Default polish and port yfz 450 head

i am looking into getting my yfz ported and polished. i wanted to know if anyone else has done it and if it is worth doing. i have heard several good things and people said it gives you around an 8 hp gain. i just want to know if anyone has done it and what they think of the difference.

thanks
maha

Porting your yfz will not give you 8hp, maybe around 2hp. I would to send your head to a company who has alot of experience. Porting your head will make more of a difference when you have bigger piston, cams, stroker etc.. more inside the motor mods. Sparks or Kenz Cycle would be places to send your head, I would lean more towards Kenz, because they will do it, wont be a long wait like Sparks.

No real need to port the YFZ450. They're port design from the factory is damn near the best it's gonna it. IMO I would spend my money elsewhere.

Just my opinion,

i would port that head by either sparks or kenz also, why your in their(motor) change the cams, or advance the stock one atleast, ive hear it really wakes up the motor, matter a fact, me and stallion kept getting smoked by one that he swears just had head work, and advance one of the cams im not sure, i normally have no trouble with them, but this one was fast, ask stallion he knows exactly the one im talking about.
