Raptor Wheels
#1
I need to replace the rear wheels on my Raptor..(not to mention the axle). The stock wheel size is 9x8.5. I have not been able to find this size anywhere in the aftermarket. The closes t I can find are 9x9. I want to keep the stock tires for now unless I would be better off putting new tires on the new rims. Thoughts? Issue's?

The 400ex was my first quad. I thought it was the "bomb" when I got it. I actually learned a great deal with that quad. Heck I have replaced the axle, steering stem, A-arm, all the wheels and tires and made several bolt on mods.

get some .190 aluminum wheels, get 9x9 if you plan on keeping the stock tires, but if ordering wheels and tires I might go with a 20x10x10 set. Although Ive never bent an axle I have friends with warriors and banshees 2 warriors less than 1 year old bent them just hopping hills, but the banshee took a nasty roll on the race track to bend his. Id say go with a lonestar and titanium if you can afford it.

The right rear wheel on the inside is egg shaped. This is also the same side that the axle is bent. I appreciate all your help on this matter. There seems to be a lot of people doubting my claim. I get off catching "Air", no by telling lies or arguing with someone I do not even know. I have bent my axle on my 400ex before also. I jumped and the nose came straight up and I landed completely on the right rear side. That time it was obvious when and how I bent the 400ex axle. I actually got a concussion on that one. Live and learn...how to use the brake in the air to bring that nose down.

I was wondering if it was bent on the insides, I have a lot of trouble with that also.
I have found the 400EX axle to be extremely strong and surprisingly flexible for a stock axle. You wouldn't think the could flex as far as they do without bending....
That sounds like a pretty nasty hit you took on the 400. I landed like that a few times on my 250R and banana'd an axle pretty badly, just kinda compacted my back and neck, I can see how you could get a concussion though, that's harsh. A friend broke his swingarm that way on his EX...
A lot of these guys seem to not be interested in hearing about any problems, just putting down other riders for some reason. Don't pay them any attention, they're just kids....
Hope your repairs are covered under warranty....
