Metal (like Aluminum alloy? sumthing like that) or Fiberglass (or thats what is looks like) They flag its self is probably made of some plastic ish stuff...But then again you could always use Bright Colored ducttape

You might have to buy a stock pole and flag and cut the flag off. They are prolly available somewhere for cheap in bulk because most places around here have advertiseing for their stores printed right on the flag. Rocky mtn ATV for example.

WHY DO YOU INSIST ON MAKING YOUR OWN FROM SCRATCH?
ITS GOT TO COST MORE TO DO IT THAT WAY.
GET A FLAG FROM YOUR LOCAL GOLF COURSE SUPPLY AND MOD IT.
GET A DRIVEWAY MARKER REFLECTOR AND MOD IT.
BOLT A 2X4 ON YOUR GRAB BAR THAT WAY YOU WOULD HAVE A ROLL OVER STICK TOO.
AGAIN I DONT GET IT BIG DAN WHY YOU WOULD WANT TO FABRICATE SOMETHING THATS READILY AND LESS EXPENSIVILY AVAILABLE.
BUT IF YOU DO MAKE ONE MAKE IT TO SPEC'S SO YOU CAN USE IT ie: FLAG SIZE COLOR AND SHAFT HEIGHTH.
ENJOY.

EXAMPLE:HEY I AM GONNA GO BUY A BUNCH OF PAPER TOWELLS AND CUT IT INTO THIRDS AND MAKE TOILET PAPER OUT OF THEM.
JUST KIDDING...NO REALLY....NO I AM NOT.

well see the stealership sells them for like $20 for a 7foot flag( to tall for where i ride but flags are req. soi i have t ohave one) and this place is so easy to flip it's just easier to make like 10 .. so you know you always have one or 2... also rocky mountain use to have these pop-it flags with the spring on the end and were 6 foot ( 5-6 ft is what i need)

AHA! THATS MAKES SENCE THEN.
MAYBE USED DUNE BUGGY WHIP MADE OF STAINLESS STEEL ON A SPRING WOULD BE GOOD AND TOUGH. I HAVE TWO KINDS ONE THAT BREAKS AND ONE THAT DOES NOT. BREAKS IS MOUNTED IN A DRILLED BOLT HEAD AND IS JUST AN EPOXY'D FIBERGLASS SHAFT INTO THE BOLT HEAD. THE OTHER WHICH WORKS AND DOES NOT BREAK IS A SPRING BASED FIBERGLASS SHAFT.
NEITHER ONE IS QUIK-RELEASE THO. (NUT n BOLT)
WHATS THE BEST QUIK-RELEASE OUT THERE GUYS?
