You probaly should rejet atleast up one or two sizes on your main jet. If you dont , with the extra air coming in it's going to make it run lean which means HOT. If it really bad it could burn a hole in your piston. I suggest you do it your self. I did it just last week. First learn about it on the net. There is a lot of web sites on rejetting. Do a search. Theres not much to it. Take the carb off, remove the bowl, unscrew the main jet and screw the new one in. Dont over tighten.

When you get your new K&N airfilter installed take it for a ride with the lid OFF. You will soon learn what LEAN is. When you let off the gas it will backfire and crack and pop. That is with the lid off or vented. Iwould leave the lid on and you probaly would be all right with stock jetting. With the lid off you must rejet to add more gas to the increased air flow. Try it both ways and then you will understand this more when you are able to see it for yourself. Do a search on rejetting and read everything you can and in a week you"ll know more than most. Like I said before, If you leave the lid on you will probaly not hurt anything unless you hear all kinds of backfire and popping
