I got a friend that has a DVX 400 he races flattrack and he is having hell when he slides around the corner, it cuts out really bad and when he hits the straight away it will pick up and haul *****.

His mods are Yoshi pipe jetted with a 195 main with 2 spacers on on the needle (didnt have a 200 main jet) Hotcams kibblewhite valvesprings pro-flow K&N no lid runnin on 114 octain.

Need some help he pulled a DNF at the last race. I think maybe its his bowl not getting enough gas but im just going to see what you guys thought.

i knows this is the wrong forum but i know random z,kfx,dvx readers venture into the yamaha forum so i think posting in here would get the best of both worlds

 

Throttle/choke cable catching on something when he turns the handlebars maybe?

Almost sounds like the fuel in the bowl is running to the right side and not getting picked up. Might look to see that the carb is in the boot level and square. An aftermarket carb might help the problem. I've seen that Boyesen sells an aftermarket bowl for some carbs that is larger, but I'm not sure they have one for this quad. Hope this helps!
