The other day I was riding my 660 raptor for about an hour and it was running great,it should becuse i had just had gotton it out of the shop.Well after an hour I had stopped and got gas and then rode for about 10 min. and it just started to spit and sputter when i would give it gas it idles fine. I had drained the gas out and had put better gas in it and somme gas treatment in it and it did the same thing. Well then I pulled my spark plug out and it was black as a ace of spades. Cleaned my spark plug and it still did the same thing. Any Sugestions?

 

Parking brake on?????????

 

Choke stuck on?
Carb boot off?
Dirty carbs?
Float levels too high?

Sounds like its the parking brake limiter more than anything else.

 

yea, does it kick in at like 2,000 RPM? it really sounds like your parking brake. it just like miss-fires right? check out the parking brake.

 

well I checked it and it seems to be off. Is there some other way to see if the parking brake is on?

 

i have seen two of these problems. make sure your airbox is connected and there is a hose coming off the air box. check and make sure that that is connected to something.

 

Its not usually on, the parking brake linkage gets loose and the bike thinks the parking brake is on. Try adjusting it.

 

I will adjust my parking brake and see what happens. What are the odds of the coil ignition gone bad?
