Default Raptor no spark

Ok, My quad just stopped running the last night of my dune trip this past weekend. I have two 2001 Raptors so I swapped the coil and the cdi from mine into the blue Raptor, the blue Raptor works with my parts. So the CDI and Coil are good in my Raptor that does not have spark. All that is left is the stator correct? There's no other components to check for a no spark situation? I've changed plugs and used my coil, cdi and plug cap on the other raptor with success. I'll give Ricky Stator $125 a slong as I'm convinced I've checked all other possibilities first. I'm not feeling froggy enough to swap stators or case cover asemblies to see if that's the problem for sure. TIA

Have you tried a different spark plug? I think I've read that if you disconnect the plug from the voltage regulator and the quad starts, it's the stator for sure. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I had that happen to me too, I think it was the orange wire coming out of the CDI, I looked over everything and found places where the wire had rubbed and was exposing the copper. I disconnected the voltage regulator and it fired right up, connected it back while running and it hasnt given me problems since.

Well, I did like you and Cali said, I disconnected the voltage regulator and she fired right up. I just ordered the Ricky Stator 50w extra power stator assembly for $125. I'll have extra wattage now to run better lights when I get them. Strange how that works when you unplug the regulator, oh well. I had it pegged down to the stator anyway, did all the testing of the other units and the readings from the stator were wack but somtimes I don't trust the readings I get from my meter, LOL. Thanks for the help fellers.

Caliraptor, you say you reconnected the regulator while the quad was still running and it's worked ever since? Seems strange, either the stator is bad or it is not I'd think. I think I'll try that but I'm still putting in the Ricky Stator this weekend.

yup, I was having a hard time getting it started and I was desperate to get it running so I just pulled that thing off and it ran. I just plugged it back in and it worked..that was like 1.5yrs ago. Might be that the cdi just had a brain fart. Either way, the ricky stator piece is great for lighting big lights.
