Raptor Problem Follow Up! WOW

this is was my first post: Hey guys whats going on? I have a 2001 Raptor and havent turned it on in a while and today i jumped the battery, started the bike although it is reving extremely high at idle. The choke is closed but it idles too high. Can anyone have a solution? Are there parts to check, could there be a valve backed up? Thanks for your time and support

UPDATE

Today i went to turn the raptor on and it actually started fine and the idle was working once i played with the screw but as i let it arm up for a minute, i saw the two pipes that come out of the engine RED RED RED HOT. I have never seen anything like it before and i was wondering you guys have ever experienced this. If so what can i do? If i need to replace those two parts what is their price look like? Thanks alott

hmm....are you sure the 2 pipes are rubber....i think rubber would melt before it turned red....maybe it was exhaust...if so...might be running too too lean....

It is probably metal your right, its the two pipes that run out of the engine in the front.

HAHA. Glowing Rubber Headers!! thats a good one. anyway, their metal, and if they glow your too lean, since you said it idle'd very high, you most likely have an air-leek. look at the carb intake boots and makes sure their on tight, also look at the tubes that go from the back of the carbs to the airbox. good luck.

yeah...thats your exhaust.....make sure your air filter is clean....fresh gas....good plug...if that doesnt work...remove carb and clean well.... remove bowl and floats....carb cleaner with little red tube...blow thru all jets and holes and any gunk that is in there...put it back together...should run fine...hope this helps!
