Stock Banshee Pipes......one more time :-)
#1
I'm looking to help a friend out that would like to know what's the best pipes for a stock 04 Banshee. He dosen't plan on any motor work being done so it will stay stock. We've both heard that the Toomey T6 are better (performance wise) over the T5 for a stock bike. Is this true in most cases?? CPI make a good pipe but we heard it's mostly for a built bike also. He's just looking for the best performance pipe out there for the $$$ for his stock Banshee.
Thanks guys.

I'm a fan of the FMF lineup, but the T-5's are great pipes too. My cousin has FMF's on his, my friend the T5's on his. The T5's seem to have a bit more power because that bike can keep up with the FMF bike which has polished carbs and some other little things. No experience with the T6.

I would definitely say go with the t-5's. Not many people will leave a bike bone stock for long or maybe have some porting done down the road when it's time for a top end rebuild. No other pipe made for the banshee responds to mods like the t-5's do IMO. With the t-6's you are basically stuck if you decide to do any modding. They will flatten out on top end with porting.

I had Paul Turner mid range pipe's on an 96 banshee I had a few years ago.... Besides the pipe's I had very few mods done to the bike.... The Paul Turner mid's are very good if he's looking for more bottom and mid range power, and they are still alot better on top end than stock pipe's... They are a little more $$$ than the FMF pipe's.... A buddy of mine had some FMF fatties on a 04, and they did pretty good as well.... I had T 5's on a 99 banshee... It's a good pipe, but it's all top end.... Never tried the T6............

Your bike runs 90 with pipes, jets, reeds, air filter and a boost bottle? Did you change the gearing or sumtin b/c I find it hard to believe that you can run 90mph with only that stuff done.
