Default Need advice for buying new parts for '05 Wolverine....

I'm looking to add aftermarket parts to my Wolverine within the next two weeks. I plan to buy 26" Super Swamper Vampire tires mounted on 8-spoke Maxlite wheels, new exhaust, and a jetkit, and unlocker. I havent really checked into any of it thoroughly, and I dont know how much power I'll be adding/robbing. Can anyone make any comments on what to change and buy? I really need advice on this. I dont want too much power robbed, but I dont want it to get stuck constantly either (which it doesnt now, but still)

Thanks

dont do the tires,, i found that a good set up is get 04 rubicon rims and tires, or get rims and mudlites...the combo you are looking at is way too big and heavy for the wolvy. get a good pipe , jet kit and a good air filter set up....get a warn 424 kit....plus a good skid pan for the diff and engine..then youl be set up...later get good shocks and a big bore..then youl;l be hooked up

You are definitely on the right track. The 424 is the best first mod, it really makes the quad more fun to ride. I would agree that anything bigger than 25" tires will rob too much power. I research extensively before I buy any mods and am very happy with everything in my sig., but it depends on what kind of riding you do. THere are a ton of threads on here, if you search you will find all sorts of info.

Congrats on the new quad. Try the search function here. There are MANY MANY topics relating to wolverine preformance and tires.

I have the Titan 489XT's (25"). You can find pics i posted in another wolverine tire topic. They are VERY light (i almost would say just as, or lighter than stock). My stock 2000 wolvy has NO problem turning them, even up to 14,000 feet in Colorado. The light weight tire also is very puncture resistant. I would buy them agian.

A warn 424 is a must.... a front locker would be really nice... youd get through anything. I just bought 25" mudlites on c-series 5 type wheels. If you go any bigger, I would suggest the c series rims because they are a little less then 8 pounds per rim... It would be easy to spin bigger tires wit light rims

thanks guys. I ordered my Super Swamper Vampires (25") yesterday. I'll get the rims soon (Maxlite or ITP). After that I'll get the Warn 424, Exhaust, Jet. I do have another question. What are differential lockers, what are they, how could I get them, and would I want to get them?
