Yamaha piston change
#1
Ok guy's here's the deal. I'm a honda guy thinking about switching to Yamaha. I own a 400EX,250EX,50XR,and a Honda generator. I want to get a YFZ450 because I think it is better than the Honda 450. Just my opinion based on what I have read here and in magazines. I have never riden a 450. But there is one thing that really concerns me and that is... I was told that Yamaha recommends a piston change every 40 hours. Can anyone help me with this concern and just for piece of mind, tell me you guys are getting a lot more hours out of your 450's than 40 hours or even hundreds of hours.
P.S. I don't race but do love to push it hard from time to time on the trails and I also am getting more into jumping. I don't want to hear you should get a Z or one of the 400's. I am pretty set on a 450. Also I plan on keeping my EX,s.
Thanks

depending how often you ride 40 hours could be alot. for me thats a couple seasons. most 2 strokes recommend 40 hours also.
personally i like the 450R better than the yfz450 i have ridden both from stock to mild to wild.
