I know this is the Yamaha forum, and that is a Polaris engine, but I just have 1 question. Why doesn't someone put that thing in a utilty quad. Polaris just came out with that 800(well 760). Why didnt they put this 750cc engine in their new machine. It's turbocharged and has 135hp.

By now you guys are probally wondering why I didnt post this in the Polaris forum, but here is why. My real question is why doesnt Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki...etc put something like this in a quad. They are all competing for the "big boy" of the utility quads, and if someone would put an engine like that in one, my thinking is that they would have it. Is there some type of technical reason why they cant or is it because of money. My thinking is that if they did put something like that in a quad they would sell, even if the cost was a bit above the cost of the normal 700 or 750.

If anyone would be able to explain this to me that would be great!

because.. some companies don't want a million lawsuits for ppl killing themselves doing 100 and hiting a tree with no helmet on and a blood alcohol content lever 5 X past the legal limit...

 

Bomb will be putting a smaller version of the 4-tec v-1000 engine from the legend touring sled into a utility quad sometime soon, probably around 800cc.

 

very true, but if someone is that drunk, there are probably still gonna kill themselfs on a quad, even if it dont go over 100

I wish i lived in a place where i could ride that thing. That engine looks and probaly runs like a beast. I am surprised no one has tried to put that in a raptor.
