cold air and jetting?

Default cold air and jetting?
Does cold air make a bike run lean? I am getting wicked backfire and it is about 50 degrees where i am riding...I am running an open air box should i put the lid on to help richen it up or will that make a difference? Any help would be great..thanks in advance

cold= lean
hot=rich
puttin ur lid on will do the trick
