I would say the Banshee is a good 2nd quad when it comes to wooded trails. Most people I know who have a Banshee also have a 4x4. It all comes down to your riding style. The Banshee doesn't lie about riding skill.. if you don't know how to ride one it shows. If you know how to get the power down without stalling or killing yourself, it will be the best riding you ever had. Its a very addicted feeling. If you have seen the movie X-men... where Wolverine hits that boost button on the motorcycle... thats a good example of the feeling you get when you hit the powerband on a nice banshee

Warrior3155.... You hit that right on the head. For the most part I ride my 500 for trail & woods riding. But this past weekend I took my 2nd quad, a Banshee, out for an adrenaline rush. It will beat you to death if ridden on rough ground with the stock suspension. For the average recreational rider the Banshee is not a 1st choice. Some will dissagree I know, but in anything but wide open spaces, the Banshee will be a handfull for most woods/trail riders.

I would say the Banshee is a sweet ride, but the stock suspension is truly pathetic. The handling isn't all that great either. Having said that, the adrenalin/power surge it will give you is awesome. You will instantly become addicted to the smell of 2-stroke in the morning! There is a certain cool factor to having bought one of the last Banshees, and parts will be available for them forever. On the other hand, the new 450's are much more capable right out of the crate. They are really the closest comparison to the Banshee I think. If you are buying new, you can't really make a Banshee as good of an all around ride as a new 450 for the difference in the initial purchase price. Faster yes, but definately not as well rounded. Suspension is night and day better on the newer stuff. It kind of sounds like you want a z400 suspension/chassis/reverse with the Banshee power. TRy researching the 450R, YFZ, and Predator(reverse) as I think these may suit your go fast needs.
