I have been riding my Raptor for almost a month now, and i was wondering if anyone else's Raptor has any type of engine sounds other than the valves. Since new i have noticed a tinny vibration sound from the engine case. I am not sure what it is, but i am assuming it is normal since i noticed it at the dealership since it was bought new. Anyone else ?

I have always had a very slight noise when operating the clutch, but otherwise, no noises. Not even valve noise. Have you checked the oil? Is this noise at startup only or all of the time? Does it sound like gears meshing or a clear "ticking".

I often hear the chain rolling over the sproket, it's very faint and could be confused as an engine noise. Does it the noise that you notice sound like it's coming from the left side of the engine?

Have you had the valves adjusted yet?
you should after 30 days.
But the big engine produces alot of vibration, even through the bars and seat as long as it is vibrating it will make different areas of the frame hum, the engines top end having 5 valves is also noisier than most others, also the chain produces a bit of noise. If you think it is something else just have the dealer take a listen.

The chain going over the front sprocket is pretty noisy. Also, there is a plastic runner under the chain, and if your chain in loose, it'll slap against the runner.

After about the 3rd gallon of fuel, I started hearing the chain noise. I first thought it was the engine, but after looking at it I am pretty sure all I need is a little more chain lube, 1/2 more riding, and a subtle chain adjustment.

I would make sure you get the valves done soon (along with an overall checkup) - it is cheap insurance in case a problem arises AFTER the warranty.
