how does the ds have 34 hp and the yfz has 39 yet the ds is still the fastest production quad on the market? iv just been reserching a bunch of quads becuz im getting a new one any time now and im tryign to find a way to get my friend w/ a yfz to shut up all he has is gytr air filter cam mod and hmf exhaust and he thinks absolutly nothing can beat him except for this guys banshee who he lost to this weekend but his ego is still big so im trying to find a way to beat him for less money

well idk cuz the pred has 38-42 the yfz has 36-40 the raptor has 36 the ds 650 has 32-34 i dont remember what the banshee had but before the yfz the ds was the fastest and i still think it is but idk what im talking about

 

Buy a used banshee.Get pipes(RDZ,CPI,or other race pipe),porting,weld the crank,bigger carbs.(alcohol if you can afford it),shave the head,and K&N clamp on filters.This not cheap though.Racing cost money.Do this and let the beating begin.You'll probably need a longer swingarm or a wheelie bar.Unless you like the front end pointing toward the sky.Pami makes awesome kits for the bom.

well i dont want to go all out racing i want sumthing that can beat him but can be used for then we are just messin around and stuff lik jumping wheelying a small home made mx track i just dont know what quad to get fer a while i really wanted the banshee but idk if i will b able to keep it up to date on maintenence and i dont want to spend 4-5k on a banshee and have it all go to waste when i ruin something btu i cant afford a yfz and i no that the 400's wont keep up my warrior deff wont so right now im leaning towards a pred ds raptor banshee or maybe even a cannondale if i can find one cheap enuff

id get a dirt bike but we got more snow and rain then sun so it would be more difficult to ride a dirt biek in snow and rain then a atv

 

Well man horsepower doesn't mean somthin faster than sumthin with less horsepower...its gearing, traction, and torque....as well as horsepower....if you want somethin faster than your friends quad ur gonn have to look at more than just horsepower....and if you guys race a little i would look at agility to help with your desicion...

 

um dudes.... the DS has a higher top speed, but in a drag, to my understanding and I have actually done this... stock to stock, the YFZ will own a DS, but with a good wad of cash in each the DS would probabily have the upperhand... but then again, who has a wad of cash to tie up in a quad??? ME!!! heh... seriously tho, off the line and in a good drag, the YFZ could keep up with the DS, unless its one of those turbo ones or has hella money in it.... but for the YFZ bein faster, nope, its quicker stock to stock tho...

 

When my banshee had porting,K&N filters,Toomey T-5 pipes,shaved head,and stock carbs.I could beat piped YFZs with little problems.I did get beat by some YFZs that had porting,high compression pistons,pipes,and alcohol carbs.I want to race them again now that I've switched to alcohol.
