Default Thinking about buying a raptor

Hi, I'm kind new to atvs and ive been thinking about buying my friends 01 raptor. I've been riding it for a couple of days now and I have noticed is kinda tippy when I go around corners. I'm just wondering is there way to make it more stable? It also needs new rear tires and I don't have clue on what to get. Any help will be well appreciated.

I just bought a durablue eliminator axle for about 350 bucks for my 2004 raptor. It made it much more stable. For tires I would recommend some Holeshot XCR they are very durable, 6 ply i believe. But I should warn you the 2001 raptors had some transmission problems, so keep that in mind.

He just got his transmission and his one starter gear fixed. What about wheel spacers? The reason for asking is I don't make that much money so 350 for a axle seems like alot to me and I still have to buy tires.

I have never used wheel spacers, but i heard they are a cheap way to widen your quad. If you do a search you will find that some people like spacers and others hate them. I think you would be fine with spacers as long as you are not doing giant moto cross jumps. An axle is better, but spacers will get the job done if you are on a budget
