i've heard of people flipping their wheels but then your valve stem is on the inside of the rim.

You'd have stuff a valve backwards inside your tire to plug the hole and then drill another hole on the outside of the rim to install another valve stem to fill it with.

Wheel spacers seem easier..

How much would it cost to buy front and back spacers?

I'm not sure..

$60 or $70 per pair is my guess.

flipping your wheels around is extremely bad for your bearings! Dont do it. Axle and A-arms is the way to go unless you dont want to spend much you can get front and back wheel spacers for $140.

LOL, wheel spacers are just as bad for the bearings as flipping the rims! If you can afford a arms and axle, go for it. Wheel spacers and/or flipped rims will also work, but you will get more bump steer and an increased chance of bending your axle. Just keep the extreme flight time down and you will be OK though.
