Hi all. I have a banshee startup question. I rode with a friend that has a 2000 banshee, and he can sit down and kick start it like it's nothing. I've got a 96, and it takes some force to get it going. Why would mine be harder to turn over than his?

Thanks,

Jason

Can't answer why but mine is a '99 and it's easy to kick. I can kick it sitting down too. Maybe it's gotta do with the compression??????

I have a 98 that I can Start sitting down too.
What are you comparing yours to????Higher compression=harder to kick but larger CC's also = harder to kick.mine got real easy this spring when it needed rebuilt.Didn't notice it that much till I got on my friends....Much harder but still able to do it sitting down.

The Banshee is much easier to kick than any 250 that I've had. Also remeber because its a twin you are only kicking a 175 not a 350.plus 2 stroke is pretty easy to kick.I've got a 350 xr motor in a quad when the decompression lever cable broke you just did not start it...I way 200lbs and couldn't more the kicker on a compression stroke.

I used to be able to kick start my sitting down.. now if you look at my sig you'll see why I have to stand up and put some *** into it to start it.

Hey bansheebrad, how much did it cost you to "put on" all these stuff? Is it worth it?

To answer rottwolf, the hardest thing about the kickstarter of the banshee is hearing its f***ing rattling all ride long. I start it standing up, but more because it prefer than to have more force. If you want, I can even start it sitting backwards on the handlebar (try this at home kids, you'll see it's tougher than it seems).

How much does it cost? Well here is the break down

*Toomey T-5 Chrome pipes - Around $500
*Trinity Stage 4 Head w/ 19cc Domes - $209 if you do this upgrade while you do the 420 kit
*Trinity PRO MX port - $425, worth every penny
*Trinity Superlite 420cc pistons - comes in the 420 Kit
*Trinity 420cc RR kit - $700
*Trinity Stage IV Timing plate - $100
*FMF Ram Valves - $170 or so
*K&N Filter - $40
*Coming soon.. Air Stryker Carbs

I also have a Wiseco Hot Rods crank that was another $400.00

I figure I have about $2000 in add ons, an this bike is ALL go no show. The only chrome thing on it is the pipes, besides that it looks bone stock.
