Default YFZ 450 Problem,Help

I went riding today, and everything was going great except one thing. Whenever I would get into 5th gear it would kind of cut out, I though maybe it was hitting the rev limiter, so I did some late shifts in 2nd, & 3rd, & 4th, & I never had a problem it revved out and ran hard anytime I would shift to 5th the thing would start cutting out, and I know that I was not near the rev limiter because I was revving higher in all the other gears. I could be full throttle 4th and have no problem, hit 5th full throttle had problems, so I went to some hill climbs, 2nd & 3rd high revs, and full throttle it ran hard and strong, hit 5th gear on the flats and it would cut out, any suggestions would be great

I will if I ever figure it out, because i did tests in everyother gear, and it runs hard top to bottom until you hit 5th gear! Oh well I guess maybe it wont happen again!

Im thinking it may be lean, on the main jet. Because of the gearing, 5th is almost 1:1, and requires more power than 4th at wide open. Try pulling on the choke, when its acting up..if it gets better, then the main circuit is too lean.

I will try that, but i have been running this jetting for over a year now with a full Yoshi TRS Exhaust, I have since then installed a quiet core, and still running a 48 pilot, 4th clip on YZ needle, and a 170 main. but I will definately try that because that is the feeling i got, but i thought since it never did it in any other gear, it wasnt jetting,. So if it was jetting would you reccomend a bigger main.

If pulling the choke on, makes it smooth out..then its lean, and I think one up on the main would be enough.
Have you changed the spark plug, lately?

This happened to my dirt bike but it started to do this to all the gears after a while the problem turned out the carb needed to be adjusted. sucks tho man, definatly when your winning against a faster bike and then blurp and they smoke ya. lol good luck figurin it out man.

so is everyone leaning towards a jetting issue here, or is there any other possible solutions!
