I have my parking brake wires removed so the rev limiter doesnt kick in, it ran fine the other night, and last night i went for a ride and it started spitting and popping like it did when the rev limiter kicks in.
it will idle fine though and you can rev the motor pretty high without seeing any problems, but once you put it in gear it wont go, it just spits pops and backfires, i pulled the plug and it is a little white which is lean, but i would think if the bike was still lean it would run still.
does anyone know what could be the problem, or heard of this or had it happen to them?
also, the jets are 145 & 147.5, i didnt do it, i had a trustworthy mechanic and good friend do the work for me.
also the parking brake sensor is disconnected behind the left front headlight.
i have the cable coming off the clutch perk removed, just an open hoole there where the wires used to go in, do you think this could possibly cause a problem?
Im so friggin lost and confused.

carbs boots are on, the T connector above the carbs is fine, air box is good, carbs were just cleaned. all hoses and clamps are good.
its a real headscratcher man
i posted hat one on there too.

Take some brake cleaner or other flammable aerosol and spray it around your carb. If the engine speed increases, you've got an air leak around your carb boot, which would cause the lean mixture and could very well be your other problem.
