Default 02 Big Bear front end noise

Hello....new to this forum...searched for and looked at all the related posts on this subject...some post were a couple years old and the machines were relatively new....has the grinding noise caused anyone more probs than just driving you nuts? Any solutions? I bought mine new and I didn't notice the noise right away, it just seems like it all of the sudden appeared shortly after I got it. I have about 1600 miles on it now and it hasn't caused me any problems and the dealer said it was normal (what else?!)...seems like it has gotten louder......any input would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to be coming directly from the front diff......I've seen others post about this....just wanted to know if it has actually caused any problems now that these machines have a few miles on them....only makes the noise when 4wd is engaged.

Checked the level and it was right full....I think I will drain it into a good clean container and see if there's any excessive metal shavings in there.....if not I'll refill with a good synthetic gear lube and try not to worry about it until something breaks I guess......
