I just can't decide... which will be better for trails and sand riding. This is with adding about $2000 worth of engine mods.

2000 dollars in engine mods on a banshee could land you 70hp or more unless you buy usless gimmicks and bling. Would be very very fast in a straight line. YFZ youd have a lot less but have its naturally good handling to go with it.

With all those toys you've got, just sell one, and buy both!

If I were to dump 2000 bucks into a Banshee, and was going to be trail riding it also, I think I'd dump some of it into suspension work, and not all of it into the motor.

You should be able to get a pretty decent perfoming motor (torque) for under a thousand bucks.
Maybe put a 4mm stroker, port/polish.

Then put the rest into suspension mods and so forth.
JMO.

Thanks for the honest answers guys, I think you're steering me in the dirsection of a YFZ with some engine mods... and I use my other toys for work, can't charge out a sport quad to the oilfield so if I want to keep my ski-doo and boat I'm gonna have to give a little on the quad...!

let it start it again, there is no way in the world any thumper will
put out as much hp by dollar as the shee since 18 years,,,just throw
as many timing advance or porting with the right pipes combo as well
and it unleash a pretty mean increase in power as quicker than any thumper out there.

He wasn't asking which one would put out more HP.
You might want to re-read his post.
