Whenever i try to start my raptor, it doesn't really kick. It makes this humming/grinding noise and doesn't want to fire. I don't know whats wrong, if you know please help. This is happening to my friends right now too.

I don't really have the time or money to do this repair, how much do you estimate it will cost to fix if I take it somewhere?

 

If you dont have the money to do it yourself, then you obviously wont have the money to pay someone to do it for you. Before you jumo to conclusions, you should check your battery and battery terminals. I have a couple questions for you, maybe I can help you out.

1. Does the engine turn over when you try to start it?

2. If the engine doesnt turn over, is there a buzzing sound coming from the battery area?

3. If the engine doesnt turn over all the time, does the starter "free spin" and later engage making a HUGE clunk sound?

 

My 2001 Raptor is doing the same thing. It doesn't turn over and the switch buzzzzzzzz's. Any suggestions?
