Default Raptor Jetting New-B

I need to jet my 05 raptor i just put in the following parts, a Pro-flow kit with k&n clamp on filter, a k&n power lid, and an fmf power core 4 slip on pipe. The elevation here is around 950ft. i am thinking about getting the power bomb head pipe in the near future, if i jet it now would i need to jet it again when i get the head pipe? Also what is a good jet kit that would have everything that i need included i was looking through the threads and saw that mikuni is a good brand. this is my first time jetting a carb, i want to learn to do it rather than spending 140 + the kit to get it done at the dealer. thanks for any help

If you get a dyno jet kit, you will only use the needles because with your mods, the jets in the kit are too small. I would just get the jets and pilots at the dealer. You might want to try 155/160 or 150/155 with 25 pilots. Go to your dealer and tell them you want those sizes(150,155 & 160) in DYNO JETS the 25 pilots only come in mikunis so just ask for 25s. You will need 2 pilot jets, one for each carb. You might want to buy more jets if you plan on adding more mods in the future, that way you already have them and dont have to make another trip to the dealer.

I have a power bomb header for a raptor for sale in the garage sale section you may want to check out.It is very cheap and in good shape and no the power bomb header installed later will not effect your jetting.

If you get a Dyno jet kit the main jets WONT be to small! Dont get confused! Their are two types of Main jets, Mikuni and Dyno Jets. They are numberd differently, a 155 Mikuni and a 155 Dynojet, the dynojet is equivlent to a like 175 Mikuni. i reccomend buying a GYT-R Jet kit, which uses Genuine Mikuni Jets, piolits, and needles. Then jet 25's Piolits, Needles in stock position, and 160/165 Main jets...Mikuni main jets that is.

86, the jets are too small. I jetted my bro's raptor with: WB pipe, no lid (stock filter) and we are at 150/155 DYNO JETS. The kit goes up to 150 jets and doesnt come with pilots. With his mods, hes gonna need bigger jets than 150. I made the mistake of buying a $60 "kit" that was worthless in a couple of months because of my mods. If you can get some dyno jet needles from someone I would suggest you do that. Then you can just buy the dyno jets from the dealer.

You have your info a little mixed up, and it sounds like you need a lesson in jetting. A piped bike w/o lid should be running 145/148 DJ mains or something very close. In Mikuni speak that would be something around 160/165.

I dont know what elevation you guys are talking about but thats what I jetted the bike @ sea level.
If you read the instructions from Dynojet, it says to install a 146/148 @ sea level WITH the lid, if he has a pro-flo and NO lid. a 148/150 aint gonna cut it. Hes at 950ft and Im at 32ft, theres no difference in the size of the jets he should use. My brother is using 155/150 with a stock filter/no lid/wb pipe. Im at 185/180 and both our jetting is spot on. Unless I get an AF monitor, I dont think I can get it any closer to perfect. So fakesnow, you take into consideration all of our advice and do what you think is best. All Im saying is what Ive had experience with, which is practically what you are running.

Edit: Go here, and follow the instructions. Im assuming the instructions are talking about mikuni jets. Do a search for powerlid and you will find that people have a HARD time jetting their bike with the lid. Hope this helps.
