big gun rev limiter

Default big gun rev limiter

i bought a big gun rev limiter for my 04 raptor, its been sitting in my room for a while now, ive been debating whether or not to put it on, any suggestions?? put it on, leave it off? will it help me any besides revving in to the danger zone lol. thanks in advance

I'll bet good money you will never rev into the danger zone. I havent seen anyone hit the stock limiter on an internally stock bike outside of neutral or first gear, and even first gear is very, very rare. For the bike you have you wasted 100-150 bucks. Most of the ones I've seen dont even have any effect on the reverse rev limiter.

i have an all stock bike and have never heard the rev limiter before
it just stops making power before it revs that high
i was wondering for a long time if i am the only one that never hit the rev limiter on a craptor

99% of people buying higher rev cdi's do not need them and are wasting money + beating needlessly on their engine.

i talked to sparks the other day about building my motor and he said that i should only buy the cdi to squeeze more power out if i wanted more in the longrun after a bored motor

Default big gun rev limiter

Piston size is not going to allow you to rev higher, infact a bigger piston will actually rev slower and not as high as a smaller piston. High revs mostly come from the cam choice with valves, spring rates, piston size, and other general rotating mass specs. Gearing can hamper you as well.
