Default Raptor jumps in first

When my quad is cold i start it up and after about 3 or 4 minutes of letting it warm up i put it in first and it jumps and starts to move forward. I have already tried ajusting the clutch but it still does it. After i ride it a little it stops. Is this normal, or does my clutch need to be adjusted.

This is a common and known problem from what I have read. I think there have been a couple of board members with the same issue. If it is still under warrranty Yamaha will replace the entire clutch. Otherwise I dont believe adjusting the clutch will fix it I believe it is a problem in the basket.

Well, first it sounds like your clutch is sticking. you can live with it but just make sure you take a stick and start it by using using it to press the start button. Because its a raptor...........not a white 2005 yoshimura Z400.

Its normal , mine did it too before i took it in for the 10 hr check up., pretty much its called a wet clutch, it means there is oil in there and before it gets warmed up it is really thick, then when ur motor is warm it becomes easier, when u take it in for the check up they should fix it were it doesnt do it though.

Do you think that the problem could be my oil. I am currently running 10w-40 in it, should i use a lower oil grade
