Does anyone know if headlight covers are being made by anyone yet? Those headlight lenses are made out of polished plastic, and will look and perform like crap after getting roosted with sand for awhile. (scratch bigtime!) I'd like to be able to protect mine when not in use. I took my headlights off to see how the bike looks, and was not impressed. Amazing how much of the design element revolves around those headlights! Anyone with useful comments on how to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated.

I have seen the Yamaha covers in magazines, but they don't look to provide much more protection from sand roost. I think if I were you, I'd find some static plastic (Self sticking without glue) and put a couple of layers of that on the headlights when I'm at the dunes, or just take them off.

How long does it take to pop them off? Is it truly a quick and painless operation?

This might sound like a redneck way , but its worth a try. Try sawran wrap (sp?) on the lenses. By the way could you give some comments on your raptors performance? I'm thinking about sellin my 400ex and getting one.

2 bolts and an electrical connection...piece of cake. Just don't like the way it looks with em off! Hoping Cascade will make some nice headlight covers for these. They said the plan on it. Guess I'll try the static plastic in the meantime. To answer that 2nd question...sell that 400ex, you'll be glad you did!
