Modquad also has some decent prices on swingers.

Be sure to get chrome if you do! Shiny stuff makes you go fast!!

Also, be aware of the added cost of a carrier, brake line, and chain.
Sometimes the cheaper swinger isn't always cheaper..........

If I were you, I'd not go more than +4.
+3" might be more than enough unless you are going the 686 route!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot guys. He likes to jump a lot! You think an extension like the one he posted would hold up to a lot of jumping??

Jumping would be fine, as long as its no higher than 2 foot. I wouldnt trust it for more.

I've found that +2 works great in the trails and really should have come on the bike stock. I'll be trying a +4 and maybe a +6 to see what I need for dunes and drags. IMO you're better off to weld an extension into an extra stock swingarm than to buy one of these. Its cheaper and can be stronger too.

I have had mine for over 3 years now and have jumped a 16 ft high jump(in the sand) and it held up great!! I even transferred it to my new 2004 Raptor and its still going strong. My buddy fabbed me a skid plate(Check out my Pics). This can be installed in 30 min providing you have all the tools and extra links for your chain. Easily taken apart as well. By the way, I had a local fab shop take a look at it and was going to purchase 10 of them(that was the least he will make at one time) and for the life of me I couldnt get no more than 5 people together...... They were going to be professionally made like the DG and Armarillo ones out today.

2fun, i know tons of people that have stock bores that are running a +4 and +6. a built 686 will be fine for a 4 or a 6. they have a tendacy to keep them short as possible because they are tremedously heavy by the inch. t-dub racing wil get you into a very nice swingarm for udner $500 including the carrier(rapfams entire crew are running them) contact me if you want the number

My question is why do they need to go so long on the swinger for a stock bore?
I would think you would need no more than a +4" to keep the front end down??

I went with a +3" on the YFZ, and it was WAYYY more than enough! Probably could have gone with a +2 and been fine, and I am usually doing a lot of steep tree shots.

When dragging others up comp hill, I was able to do just fine with the stocker.

a 450, has no where near the torque comparison to raptor. im almost a stock bore, with a measly 666 kit. and i have trouble keeping my front end down on my +4. besides a current bone stock(from the factor) would have no need for a +4, but when i was stock except a pipe, i would have bought a +2 (NO DOUBT), but i thought a head and new i was going to be going with a bigger bore down the road, and didnt want to see myself dropping another $900 on a longer arm. beside hand down i know A LOT, let me emphazie a lot, of people that strongly agree the +4 is the "ultimate" swingarm for the raptor. as far as stock bore with some tuning. if you havent heard their reaching almost 70hp. on stock bore raptors now a days. i hope that helps

You are correct, I have never heard of a stock bore Raptor getting 70 HP.
I am having a hard time swallowing that. Are they stock bore on nitrous???
What exactly is being done to the Raptor in order to get that kind of power?

The only Raptors I have seen even coming CLOSE to that are the big bores. Even those were closer to 60-65 HP or so.

I've got one of the JTM extensions on my 686 ( 58 rwhp) and it makes it far more rideable. Hell mine is damned near uncontrollable with the stock length. I've had mine for years and it's held up beautifully. Btw, big air scares the crap out of me so I cant tell you about jumping abilities.
