How's this banshee going to run?
A friend of mine blew his internally stock 350 banshee up this winter on the ice. As we speak his 404 build is being put back in the bike. Its on pump gas and probably a dune port running stock carbs and t5 pipes. So what are we looking at for hp numbers or 300' times?
I'll race him over the holiday weekend, but he's going to be breaking it in and might not have his paddles so it wont be all it should be. Just looking for a little realistic info, he cant be trusted to tell the truth on this build.

Those stock carbs are limiting the potential by nearly 50%. With nothing really worth mentioning as far as other mods, that 404 I would bet will only put about 48-55 HP to the ground. That's not to say that if you put bigger carbs on you'll be making 100 HP, the key is to make everything work in conjunction with other mods to give you the best usuable power. The biggest struggle is smoothing out the power curve to allow that high output motor to connect with the ground and actually unleash the potential. I can tell you that the 404 kit will create bigger numbers on a dyno than a stock banshee by a long shot however, like I said earlier if all mods are not working together to make the power usable, the 404 kit will not feel like that much of an improvement.

I think 60 hp. is possible. When you start making more hp. other areas of the bike become more important.Traction becomes a big issue as well as the right gearing.Of course it's important on stock bikes, but more important on the faster bikes.Depending on where I go sometimes all it wants to do is stand up and other times all it wants to do is spin the tires off.The right tire is very important. When my bike was set up similar to his it run a 5.4 in the 300 ft.I think it would have run better with the right gearing though.Still learning. You might beat him if he can't get it to hook up.If it does hook up though,he'll probably smoke ya.Good luck.

Their are some guys that can convert the stock banshee carb over to ALKY,and modify them slightly to be AWESOME on a none radical motor. My advise to your friend would be buy another set of Stock banshee carbs( should be able to almost have them given to him). then have them converted to alky, and use them when he wants to race and WIN!
bigger.
bigger.

I'm off to do a little jetting on my bike (sparkys are way restrictive) and then I'm headed out, I cant wait to run them.

Well my buddy's bike didnt make the trip, he just became a spectator. I'm anxious to see it done. He's obsessed with a single carb setup and I cant get him off of it so now thats the last part on the waiting list.
I did get to run a few other shees, and I had a lot of fun anyway.
