Default Cracked Raptor Valve Cover

Wow what a day
i am in duhramtown right now and i swear things couldnt be worse
my raptor breaks everytime i take it out of town
twice at little sahara and now here
I was riding the atv track and made a couple of laps and then stopped outside the track entrance with no noticeable problems
I went to crank it up and it sounded horrible and had no compression
I looked it over and oil was all over the head upon further inspection there is a hairline crak on the valve cover on the left side of the bike
what is yalls guess to what went wrong
i figure that one of the rocker arms broke and hit the valve cover and the valve is stuck open (it is on the intake side)
i will inspect more when i get home i just hope there is no hole in the piston
it didnt even run bad until all of the sudden it didnt crank
i cant find the valve cover seperately as far as i can see the valve cover only comes with the cylinder head assembly which is 550 bucks

anyone ever had this happen before or know what it probably is ????????
Thanks

you can probably JB weld that hairline crack.. if its small like that jb weld really holds that stuff good. we held together a lawn mower block for three years with that suff and it was a huge gouge

hold on bro i know a guy that is selling one. let me get you in contact with him. PM me for the info. also a very skilled welder can repair it.

actually nevermind on the PM, first F- the JB weld idea, one it will like like crap and two it well be a very very very short fix. give Robertson Bad Rap Inc a call he might be able to fix it

otherwise finishline racing has a new valve cover and head for sale for $375 shipped. thats as cheap as your every going to get it. $400 maybe, but most the time $500-$600.

one more peice of tech advice, dont even think about just swaping valve covers, each head and valve cover are mated you have to buy them in a set, you pick of a valve cover off ebay without the head, and your just asking for trouble.

It could be the timing chain broke or the decomp. mech.

Well guys i pulled the valve cover off and the decomp. mechanism is exactly what broke
what happens to the end that fell into the motor
where do i get it out from do i have to get into the case to get all the stuff out

I have pretty much decided to part it out and sell it on ebay or to my friends
i am sick of this thing breaking

i am deciding on another quad or maybe even a two wheeler but i guarantee you it wont be blue
