Default Sorry but raptor jetting

Well I went back aways before I decided to post this. I put my powerlid on today and followed the instuctions. I took out the stock 140 and 145 and replaced them with an 155 and 175 as the instuctions said I then went to the #5 clip location and scrapped the steel washer. I then screwed the mixture screw all the way in and backed it out two full turns. I went for a ride and when it picks up the rpm's it seems to be fine but it I lug it a bit and crack the throttle it farts and sputters and finally picks up. I do not have the exhaust listed in my mods- still in the mail- and I am sitting at about 1800 feet. I was going to save jetting it until I got my exhaust but thought it might be a good thing to learn to do on this machine. Well maybe I should have waited Was planning on going for a ride tommorrow so PLEASE HELP!!

You need the exhaust if you want that jetting to do you any good. Put it back the way it was and wait for the pipe.

Yeh I suppose your right I was hoping to get a small idea on the difference in power for each mod. I have been waiting for that exhaust for over 20 days and am getting frustrated. the price you pay for living in canada No real ideas on what might be going wrong?

With what you have now I would go 145/150, 3rd groove on the needles and 2 3/4 turns out on the mixture screws.

if its good on top I would try 155/160 just to see if it is better than 145/150, but change the needle to the 3rd clip and that should help your mid range alot!!

spudley your still waiting for our exhaust. give CT a call and yell at them. i hope you picked up their jet kit along with the exhuast.

im at sea level 100f and i run a 170/175 2.5 turns out, open air box, no "powerlid". this will give you a baseline.

Yeh I am getting a little impatient. but some good news I managed to jet it pretty close with just the powerlid, A little weird though I moved to the #1 clip location on the needle and played with the mixture some and it seems all right. I was wondering if anyone has found a way ,or a tool, to adjust your mixture well the carbs are still on the machine?
