Default Banshee balancing

Hello ppl i got a 02 banshee and some1 has told me i need it balancing, to do this they said you use the screws under the seat ontop of carbs, i aint a clue how to do it, but one exhaust is puffing more smoke out than other, wen ya going along and hit 6th gear bogs down n cuts out, once u stop it litrolly emptys tank out wi petrol from bottom over flow of right side. i have just reset both carbs to 20.08mm (float height) and cleaned em out, any ideas of how u balance it or it a specialist job? service manual says nothing about it?

Cheers in advanced

Do you mean Carburetor Synchronization? If so this may or may not be your problem.... Have you put in new spark plugs and cleaned the air filter? If not do so...... To check carb synchronization you need to find the inspection window on the side of the carb.. Its located on the upper rear part of the carburetor.... push the throttle until you see the index mark on the slide...Then hold the throttle and look at the other side ( look for the index mark in the inspection window on the other carb)... If both index marks are at the same height, then the prolem is something else...

both spark plugs are brown but i will change them, air filter just been cleaned so that shud be fine

They should both be the same when the throttle is open.... I might add, you need to do this with the engine off..... To adjust them. Slide the rubber boots off the tops of both carbs...Then loosen the adjuster locknut on the left hand side... Then push the throttle until the right hand side index mark is centered in the inspection window.... Now turn the adjuster on the left hand side in or out and adjust it to the same height as the right side... Then make sure you tighten the locknut after you are done making adjustments... This is all done much easier if you remove the gas or should I say petrol tank

Do yourself a favor and get a TORS removal kit from Motion-Pro. It comes with a new cable and carb caps. It makes tuning MUCH easier.

yer getting the motion pro you after go to twist throttle dont you?

situation so far is got it running and idle speed fine but once i stopped right side carb after about 3 mins petrol floods out,(also does when engine off) other carb dont leak until you rev it and it just gentle drops, overwise dont leak stood with engine running

So i decided to take the right carb off and look at valve seat ,needle valve and float as i turned card upside down and tryed 2 push float back up it kept getting stuck so that maybe cud av bin causing it. i also clean it all out wi compressor.
but now i have sorted that am having difficulty starting it back up now.
if i go back to it now i could make it start first time wi choke on will run for about 10 secs and cuts out ,try put gas on it just bogs. thats it wont start even with bumping it

i checked spark plugs put them to to right height they need to be? both seem to spark ok dunno if to change them>?

Nope, Motion pro has a kit with the cable for thumb throttle also. It uses cable #813 which is also the cable for bigger carbs if you ever upgrade to 34's or 35's, you will already have the correct cable.

As for the problem with it being hard to start now, you made banshee mistake #1. There is a little black hose that connects the two carbs. If you look on the top of the case, I would bet it is laying there. It fell off when you took the carbs off and you never noticed it. It just slides on two nipples, one on each carb directly across from each other on the insides, just in front of the slides. The hose is about 2.5 inches long.
