Default Banshee woods setup

Well Im not a Genius when it comes to Gearing set up. But i do Know this When I got my Shee it had the stock Front Sprocket. I had a hard time Getting it to pop a Wheelie. But now that i Put a 15T front Sprocket i can set on the Fuel tank and Bring the Front Tires Off the Ground. Believe me my Shee Has Plenty of Low end Power.( im 6'2" 220Lbs) and I was Told on This Forum to install the 1 Tooth Bigger Sprocket. It would Help me with Woods and trail Riding.Someone said to Add 1 tooth on the Front was Like Dropping 1 or 2 on the Rear. Hell I Don't Know. All I do know is that I Have no Trouble Riding in the Woods or on Trails. I Would like to know if im Really Loosing Power due to the 15T Front Sprocket.

I was under the impression dropping a tooth in the front helps for woods riding. Going up teeth in the front helps on the top end which isn't always useful in tight woods rides. I dropped a tooth in the front for the woods and loved the response. Sure you lose some top end, usually marginal. I also assumed a smaller front sprocket would bring the front end up easier than a larger front sprocket. Comes in handy with those trees lying across the trails.

Dynoport 2 into 1 exhaust, and Trinity stage 4 single carb and intake.

If you are looking to get lowend for tight trails, then Bluebansh and biggerisbetter are both giving you the best advice. Look at either FMF Gnarly pipes or the 2 into 1 pipes. Same for the carb, there are some single carb conversions out there that will give you some more low end. Of course you should do the usual intake mods(new airbox/filter.) If you are tearing into the motor then either higher compression or increasing displacement(or both) will also give you a boost. Finally, going to a SMALLER countershaft sprocket or LARGER rear sprocket will make better use of the low end power you do have. IMHO, a stock, used(if money is an issue) 450 racer will be a much faster and more capable ride in tight woods.
