Yes you need to oil the filter if you clean it.

You dont just run the powerlid by itself. Theres a filter in the stock mount. I would keep that filter foam.

OKAY READ THIS PLEASE
i have 2 more questions...this time i can clear it up for u guys confused....
1.) There is an airbox mod advertised by k&n in the royal distributing catalogue...it has the following
-air filter mount (replaces the crappy stock mount, goes onto the boot)
-air filter
-lid has a filter in it...
is this is a good purchase? and do i have to rejet if i buy it?
***i sometimes ride in mud and water***
This is what im talking about...

2.) if u dont recommend this...what else should i buy? keep in mind i want a different mount because the filter just floats around in the box...

If your bike needs more air I recommend the power lid. However I would run a foam filter under it. That way you get more air but double the filtration. In my opinion foam filters are better at filtering than k&n, but K&N allows more air flow. So do both. It works for my raptor!
