Yeah, I wouldn't get a raptor either.........I'd get a 700 raptor. Man I was trying to hold out for a big bore honda ex, but ............ I so have a hard on for raptor 700, err...........uhm.............you know what I mean.

Raptor slow, are you joking, Raptors are one of the sickest quads out there. And as far as breaking down, there is no problem with them. As long as you maintain it every so often. Ive been riding Yamaha for the last 14 years, and they are well built bikes and quads...

Here are the problems I have experienced
1) Cant hold on good enough to the bars, the torque is way to much and your body starts to fly down the road
2) When you start the machine, stand back and wait tell it warms up, or you will feel the power of the machine and it will take your breath away.
3) When Jumping, dont go past 2 nd gear or you will be so damn high in the air you gonna wish you had a parachute to land it.
4) If you ever get out to the dunes to race and find yourself with lots of Friends watch out, you may spray them from behind to hard with sand and they may wreck.
Hope this helps,
I have enjoyed both my raptors from day one.
