ok i talked to my dealer i kinda want to find out if this is true or whats the deal i dont want to mess anything up when i get it...

1. one thing with the YFI was you can bolt on any mods pipe header, filter etc.. and the quad will adjust properly without jetting/ calibration etc... is this TRUE
2. it will adjust to elevation and temp?
3. if you can't just bolt on how do you adjust the settings of the ECU or whatever chip it uses on the bike...

i heard some from mine but i would like more feedback on this situation would be great thanks again...

it won't auto adjust for mods.. it will say if u add just a filter or take out the baffle.. but not like pulling the lid and adding a full pipe.. then you'd have to moto-mapp it kind of like the moto-mapping software on the cannondale's. it WILL auto adjust for elevation and temp as far as i know.

Vinnie,
Good question. I know that the EFI Polaris ATV's will not adjust for mods, just temp and altitude.
I have a friend that works for Corp Yamaha, I'll shoot him an email and see if he can find out.

Very few stock ECUs (ATV, motorcycle, car) will adjust for much change. There is a little window that they will compensate for but it's not very big, different intake and exhaust but not a new cam or bigger turbo. To really dial-in a computer controlled engine with major mods, you've got to get an add-on ECU that tricks the factory ECU into compensating for major engine mods.

hey DIRRK thanks i would appreciate you doing that i mean if you can hook up a full exhaust as well like new filter and no lid like you do on yfz's then sweet thats pretty much all i do on mine anyways but if i need to remap it for that... how hard etc... i just wanna make sure when i get this i wont mess it up or have probs. with it...

thanks again for the great info...

Vinnie,
I'm waiting for a reply back so no info on that front.

If we do have to re-map, it's not a big deal.
It's basically a fueling box. It takes the signal from the OEM computer and adjusts it according to a preinstalled map or external controls.
It hooks in between the OEM computer and the injectors, really pretty simple. The install takes just a few minutes. It'll take longer to route the wires nicely.
New maps can be downloaded from the mfg and uploaded to the unit via a USB cable.
I'm sure DynoJet will have one out soon.
