Default 03 kodiak v belt question

I'm having trouble finding info on the v belt. I will be attempting to change it myself I think its shot. it has been water logged lots and now I have a top speed of about 30 mph. Does anybody have any tips or info, anything I should know is it pretty straight foward. I was also wondering which brand/type of grease should I use to grease the pulleys thanks for all an any help

I would think the same....its not the belt, but the weights are dirty or dry.

Yamaha suggests you use the ultramatic grease, at 17 bucks a pound. You need about 1/2 pound to regrease the weights. Dont try to skimp and save, you need to use quite a bit.

Ive been using amsoil synthetic marine grease, and it seems to do just fine.

If youre looking for a how to....nyrocs site and texmudders site is the place to go. They both describe doing the grizzl;y, but the kodiak is very close to the same thing.
