hondas dont suck. its really a preference issue. some people are biased and brand loyal. hey, even me. i preffer yamaha. all the way. but that doesnt mean i diss on honda. honda has and has made some pretty good quads. the 450R has dominated MX almost as much or just as much as the yfz has. the 400ex is known for reliability and good wheelies. i wouldnt mind having one to mess around on. and you cant forget the 250R. but i still love yamaha a lot more. yamaha is #1 in my book. i prefer them over honda for sure. that being said i think the 700R would be a fine choice. but i would wait till its a proven quad. like, that everything works. im sure it will. yamaha isnt going to pull another 01' rapor tranny problem. if you go with the honda youll have another good choice. i just think the yamaha has a lot more to offer. especially since he doesnt MX. just my .02[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

i rode a modded 450r and thought it was awsome. much faster than the other quads i had ridden in the past. then i got my YFZ and it is way faster stock than that 450R. the raptor is pretty awsome too. i dont know if its faster but it has electric start, reverse, and its more reliable. Honda parts are poor quality and always falling apart.

 

It is widely known honda makes ultra reliable atv's. I know people who have mid 1980's atc's that have never been rebuilt, start within 3 pulls, and run great.

 

thats true my buddy 250r is pretty damn fast
his dad bought it brand new in 85
and it has never been rebuilt

 

from what ive heard the 700R is supposed to hang with the yfz but the yfz is still their top model. im pretty sure the yfz will still beat it off the line but the race will be much closer now. from what ive heard.

Honda does not suck.... I have owned banshee, raptors, blasters, 250r,s, and a couple 400ex's. They are all great. To be honest until these two new quads (second generation 06 YFZ450 and the new 700r) came out I was going to go with the Honda 450 just because I love the look of it.

I would choose a quad because of color, ergos, and possibly and less on features now a days. They are all so close in performance anyway.
