i think that a blaster is going to need more than a motor to keep up with any raptor. the raptor isn't the best handling atv but the blaster is way behind it. with its 68" wheelbase and 40" width it isn't exactly race ready. now i think that somebody here is lieing about their "racing" ability. if you think that a motor makes an atv race ready you must be taking up the tail end of the pack at your races, good luck with that though. you might think about buying a more race ready atv... perhaps a raptor?

 

I wouldnt listen 2 LRD anyways, he is a suzuki guy (no offence to the OTHER suzuki guys) he is just jealous that yamaha make WAY faster, and better quads than susucki oops i mean suzuki.I just love it when people make posts just to start a fight.i dont care if he wants to go on his suzuki forum and say that, but to come on the yamaha forum and intentionally talk crap about yamahas is just plain retarded! i own a yamaha blaster 285cc pushing 65hp will beat a raptor if you havnt noticed.... its just like a 250r but a little better and faster ... and it has extended swing arm and arms elka suspension all the way around and alot of mods.. and trust me i will kill your rapotr

 

I feel stupid just for reading this post, but sometimes some interesting stuff comes out of the dumbest threads.
Obviously this guy has Raptor envey and he's just pissed because Yamaha's R & D department is leaving him even farther in the dust.

Kudos to Yamaha for once agasin setting the bar another notch higher, I hope it turns out to be a solid quad.

Good luck to all you guys that buy one. Just remember, if it has a couple problems, don't cry that yamaha screwed you.

65hp blaster huh? the blaster is a begginers quad, not a race quad. lmfao your such a joke. 65hp blaster my ***. The only really nice blaster i know of is shav0's, but hes also a really nice guy, unlike yourself. oh, and if you have this mighty 65hp blaster, why would you have a Z400 aviator?

LMAO, the highest HP blaster was built by 1dirracing pulling 52 hp out of the rear wheels, get your facts straight kid. 65 hp on a blaster is unreachable on it's motor.

This is a funny post, first off I wouldnt even touch a blaster motor, those frames already shake liek hell with that engine, imagine a bigger engine, plus your blaster is not as fast as a raptor, maybe a slightly modded 400ex, because I use to own a blaster, then went to 400ex, and it had way more power, pipe for pipe, and now I own a YFZ. Tell me LRD, is your bike on alky ?? You have yoru dyno sheet of your biek pushign 65hp ? Name all your mods, and post a picture of your bike. Is it a stroker ?? blah blah blah, delete this worthless post.
