Default ATV pulling=Raptor?

I talked to the guy who owns the sled. They are going to run a heavy tow strap around the axle housing, so I will be pulling from about the lowest point on the quad. With the weights that I have and myself my Raptor could weigh in at around 900 lbs. Yikes! I made a bracket to mount the weights right behind the front tires, so it should help keep the front end down and give the rears some grip too.

Anyway....I was just wondering if anyone out there has tried this before. Should be a good time regardless of how I do. I hear a Brute Force and a Sportsman 800 are going to be there. They should be able to pull!

Sounds like you're going to have fun man just try not to smoke the clutch

Maybe fill your rear tires with water...?

The pull was last weekend, I have been away from the computer working on my Demo Derby Combine. I had the best pull for a sport quad. Utility quads like Xplorer 400, Sportsman 5 and 600, ect. in 2WD could easily out-pull me. With all the weights I added she tipped the scale at 990 lbs.!!!! YIKES!!

Anyway, even with all that weight I still spun out way too easy. The front end never came off the ground more then an inch. The track was hard and dry (no rain here for awhile) When the sled shut me down smoke was rolling off the rear tires. I think with V-cut pulling tires and a loamyer track I could have done alot better.

I hope to have pics soon. The Raptor was a low rider with all that weight on her!

If you were smart.. you would have hooked up a chain or rope to the front of the quad so it stays on the ground then put weight in the back and front of the quad then with the traction.. you should be able to pull anything till the clutch blows
