whats the best muffler to get some HP without breaking my neighbors windows everytime i ride past their house?

ive read several reveiws on the HMF Eco,,,but they are mixed reveiws,,,,some say its real restrictive,louder than stock,and no HP gain,,,any thoughts?

are Dr.D mufflers extreme?

 

i was going to suggest hmf to you and I dont know anything about the dr.d mufflers but some people like them so they must not be too bad

i was almost ready to get the Eco,and then i googled it,and some threads popped up,and folks didnt really have too much good to say about them

basically said they paid a couple of hundred bucks for a muffler that was louder than stock,with no HP gain

but HMF claims its quieter than stock,with a 1/3 Hp gain

im not restricted too much where i live,but the folks that live on our road do have a tendency to get upset at the louder exaust when we ride by to hop on a differant set of trails,and personally,i dont care much for the extremely loud pipes myself

especialy when your following someone who has one

 

Wait! You mean past their house as it ridding on the road past their house. I can’t think of a better way to say it besides GET OFF THE ROAD! I not even going into the story of why I hate people like you.

 

we are allowed to ride on the back roads in West Virginia,,,,we even have a county Sherrifs Deputy that rides with us,,,,ive passed State Troopers,and Sherrifs,and they dont look twice

i live in a rural area,and i was STILL only trying to be considerate,,,why should i "get off the road" whren its perfectly acceptable here?

we have many trails to ride on here,and the only way to hit them would to either
A),,,ride through folks feilds against their wishs,,,,,not an option
B),,,load them up and drive them a quarter mile,unload them,and continue riding,,,,kinda dumb wouldnt you say?
C),,,choose one set of trails for the day,and stay on them ALL day,,,or revert back to A) and B),aint gonna happen
D),,or ride down the rode like we have some sense and trail hop all day,,,,which seems to be OK with the Police

so if you have issues with quads on the rode,,,maybe its those in your area that has caused these issue for you,,,and they are in fact YOUR issues

 

From what I've been told, you can modify your stock exhaust and get the same results as the QS1

 

thanx Starky,,,,im going to dig a little deeper into that route,,,but i really dont want a obnoxiously loud exaust,,,im too old for that anymore,,,,maybe if i could get it to sound like my HD,loud wouldnt be so bad,,,,but i have yet to hear a loud quad that didnt make me cringe

 

Call and talk to the guys at Highlifter. They develop and build many of thier own parts for utilty bikes and have an in house dyno. I remeber reading they liked MBRP. I really liked mine on my raptor. It does not have to loud to make power.
