id go with the 600, even that is gonna rev to the sky. Let me get this straight, you're building this for the one purpose of beating a civic hatchback?

the 220 was the water temp. (oh boy....)

alrite dude. ima try, but the 25 year old dude that noes everything says that getting an r6 engine is better. how much would just the engine cost and how much will it cost total with after instillation and urthing. i still dont get wat that dude means by i cant leave first gear. iight thanks

If you cant grasp what I wrote, and dont have any clue as to WHAT IS INVOLVED in this swap, then I promise you that you will never get it to work, so dont ever worry about it.

Just sell your 450 and buy an older bike. Any older 600 will smoke any civic, (to a point..) let alone an R1.

WOW! any downdraft style motor,ie r1,r6 will make life miserable as far as swapping in to a quad.because the carbs/or throttle bodys will hit the upper frame rails,it can be done but requires alot of hacking,i know it i had a raptor chassis for my 600 and decided it was easier to build my own
also the newer yamaha motors have a weird oil pan that hangs down real low,and a counter sprocket that is real high...a older gsxr motor would be the way to go, basicly your not just going to drop sumthin in without some frame work,at a minimun the lower rails will have to be changed, anythying can be done if you have the tools and skills
motor kits off ebay will run 800.00 to 3500.00 bucks depending on what you want, you will need a new swingarm, slicks, and wheelie bar,and also some adjustable upper-a-arms to put some positive caster in the alignment, otherwise on pavement the front end will be VERY squirley after 80mph or so....good luck!

show me a picture of one quad w/ a street bike engine in it that dosent have frame mods every single person on the site has had to moddify there frame and every atv that does hill climbs usally has frame mods such at lengthing its just to much work i alrdy looked into it w/ my warrior and talked to the guy who but a gsxr 600 into his warrior and he said he hadda modify the frame drastically

ok yall. i dont kare what it takes, as long as it is possible ima order the engine off ebay and do it. now i got some pretty good ideas now that i might do it. 2 g's on the line is a big deal so i aint playin. this hatchback isnt just a normal one. its a jdm HKS turbocharged vtech engine, with an HKS drag exhaust system, Venom ecu module, and a NX nitrous kit. its body kit is made up of all carbon fiber, even the hood and trunk. its light and fast. i said that an r1 stock engine in a yfz450 frame can beat it and im ready to prove that it can. all i need to noe from u guys is if it can be done, if not i aint wasting 2 g's for an engine. thanks again
