Explain to me how fuel injection increases power? Im not trying to start anything here i like carbs just as much as fuel injection. But in all of my past experiences ive never seen any power increase by swaping a carb set up for a fuel injection set up. I am talking about cars but its the same concept.

I know the feeling, I pass by this nice truck everyday on my way to work, it's at a dealer, well today I bought it, just couldn't stand it any longer.

you are correct,a properly tuned carb will make as much power, given it will flow as much as the throttle body will.and thats if the efi mapping is correct.the efi is trail rider freindly, and has alot of benifits for normal riding, but would not be my first choice for a all out highly moddified race motor.hilborn has the injection for that

Welsh,

I respect your opinion on how the 700R feels in comparision to the 660R, everything's gonna feel different to everybody, what feels squirrely to one, may feel planted to another, just enjoy what you have, kick it out there and keep the rubber up

With the fuel injection, the engine will be able to get more fuel, therefor giving it more power. With my experiance that is what i have come to believe. You tell me what quad would have better bottom end, the carberated 660 or the fuel injected 700. Because like i said i have had both. On the new 700 it will pop the tires up almost every time shifting into second gear, where my 660 didnt.

Sorry Welsh, but you are wrong in your assessments. "Getting more fuel" does NOT equal more power. There has to be the correct mixture of oxygen and fuel amongst other factors in order to obtain more power. You are also wrong in saying that fuel injection can "get more fuel." A carbureted engine can "get" the same amount of fuel as a fuel injected engine if jetted properly.

There are positives and negatives to both technologies.

You are absolutly right. However If you read my first message it states that i am from denver, so therefor my carberated 660 wich was never jetted because I only had it for about a week would never last against the new fuel injected 700. at lower altitudes that may not be the case. I am not too famaliar with fuel injection on a quad because it is my first one. I only know what I have heard, so thank you for clearing that up for me.

I thought they made the front end on the 700 more planted, and more stable so it would not wheelie as easy as the 660. I believe they did this mod to get a better launch, i could be wrong.

Id just like efi to keep from having to rejet every time i change altitudes. FI is also good for steep hills, and when you stay on the gas. Granted you will have better throttle response, but no more power.
