I cant find a yamaha snowmobile with the same engine that the R1 has in it. You know 998cc DOHC
20-valve inline 4 that makes 180hp. 0 and does someone know how much power the R1 makes without the ram-air system?

 

I know this is a quad form but does anybody on this yamaha form know what the name of the snowmobile is that has the R1 engine in it?

 

Yamaha RX-1 sleds... called RX-1... was a RX-1 Warrior, RX-1, RX-1 Mountain... then idk what they ahve now for 06 but im sure they still have that motor in some sled..

 

Called the rx-1 ton they got rid of it but it was in the 05 line up now they have a whole new crew but they still weigh to much for me

They are using the same motor as the older ones, only the new 06 has efi and 10 more hp (150). The 04/05 R1s make around 170 hp without the help of ramair, but rev way higher 13750 vs. 10200 for the sled(old R1/FZ1 motor).

 

170hp is a bit high maybe more like 150

 

those fourstroke sleds suck there just plain old to heavy unless you ride wide open trails

 

Hahahaa...... we mock what we dont understand. The RX1 (with the help of a turbo) is the baddest snowmobile ever produced. It is now called the Apex but is still basically the same machine with some changes. They changed the name to get away from the 1ton nickname. I have an RX1 turbo that will kick the shi# out of almost any snowmbile on the planet. Removed over 100lbs and with the Boss Noss it puts out around 350-400hp [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
