Twist Throttle?

Or even when you jump, and land wrong, you wont have full control of your wrist which could lead in more acceleration and loose control of your bike.

If possible...ride a quad that has the twist. I had bought one but after riding my friends Raptor (who has the twist throttle).....it's still sitting here in my closet. I don't think I ever made it out of 2nd gear!

There is a reason there is a thumb throttle on a quad, because you need two hands to steer VS leaning on a dirt bike. If you come off a jump wrong you don't want to twist that throttle trying to hold on to a bike that is 100 to 200 lbs more then a dirt bike. You will ask a hundred people and get two differnt reasons because they are all different riding talents, so it's preference. I would say less mistakes are made with the thumb throttle. Good luck.

I put one on my yfz 450, had it on for 2 rides ,took it off . It didn't stick but let me tell you I kept on givin it throttle in those damm left hand corners, jumps & whoops. Way out of control (scary).Dont waste your money ,but if you really want to I'll sell you mine cheap!

I rode a Raptor with a twist throttle and right off the bat I was all over the place, really had a hard time getting used to it, gave up on it after almost killing myself, I'll stick to the thumb throttle

Twisties are great. Someone said they suck for turning, bull ****. Thats like saying "I don't like thumb throttles bucause if I'm going down hill I might give it more throttle than I want". If you can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time you can use a twisty for turning left or right, no side effects. You have more control of the bike with a twisty simply because you have your fist wraped tightly around the throttle, as apposed to a semi grip with your thumb not even being on the handle bars. I also find it easier to use the front brake with a twisty. Have them on both my bikes. Oh yeah, tecates came, and gas gas wilds come stock with twisties. Most racers go twisties, if you can't handle a twisty fine, just don't bash them because you don't understand how to use them. If a twisty some how got you in trouble, just simply PULL IN THE CLUTCH LEVER.
