can any one telll me if a 01 raptor is the year that it had the problems i am looking to buy one dont no witch year is the best

In 2001 a good % of the Raptors had tranny problems, I have never had a problem with mine yet. Ive heard the only difference between the 01's and the others is the gap has been shorted out between first and second gear.

 

i had to replace my trans in my 01,first gear is also lower in the 02 and newer raptors

I think its ok to get an 01 beacuse the problem would have occured by now. As i said before not all of them even had problems. Its up to you an 01 may be the cheapest way to go. hope this helps
