Raptor Exploding Carbs.......
#1
The problem is two-fold.
The ambient temperature seasonal drop.
And the Raptor's engineered in over-cooling.
The MuZ 660 Road Racer guys have to cardboard and
tape over the radiator to get the thing to run warm enough to keep from popping. Do any of you Raptor guys have any idea how hot the coolant is/has been running???
Did I read that post correctly where the guy said
that his Raptor blew the carbs off and CAUGHT FIRE????

Exploding carbs? When my Raptor backfired and the carbs came off, it was 75 degrees. Since my Raptor is over the recommended 30 hour break in period, it seems that a valve adjustment may cure this problem (it better!). Bikes with the 660cc engines had overcooling problems running over 100 mph on a road course. It seems that your posts are leaning a bit away from "hacking" Ryan. Good Job!
