For racing, I agree with you. The 450 is a better choice. As for handling performance, it depends on the intended use. I know I could ride my 660 a lot longer than a 450. Suspension and ergos much more comfortable. I haven't ridden the 700 as much yet, but so far, it seems very comfortable with excellent suspension and ergos. Also, the powerband is great. Putt around in third and blip it to pull the front end up with little effort. A great choice for trail riding or other types of recreational riding.

As to what was originally asked:
The 450 has a more technologically advanced engine, while the 700 has EFI.
The 450 has a higher quality suspension.
The frames are comparable for build quality.
The 450 ergos are designed for racing, larger folks may not be as comfortable on one. The 700 was designed for recreational riding, ie: more comfortable, reverse, e-start, etc.

Keelam, the 700r should be a little faster than 450. The 700r should be more comfortable to ride. The yfz will be better on a mx track. Yfz has a better suspension. The yfz will handle better {lower center of gravity + less weight} Dohc is better than sohc, but both bikes have a 4 valve head. The 700r has efi, which is better than the yfz carb. It also has 250 mor cc's. If you want to seriously race mx get a 450. If you trail ride get a 700r. If you want to drag race get a banshee, even tho you say they are ugly. Grow up kid.

First I'm no snitch, second off Where will they race, dirt, sand, or pavement. How long is the race. What do the riders weigh.

 

LMAO!! Well you almost got everything right midnite, but the YFZ has 5 titanium valves, compared to the Raptor's 4 valves. And concerning your question, I bet the raptor will be better for longer distances, though to a slower revving motor.

 

I will be racing on pavment, drag racing on a quarter mile and 1/8 stretch.
