does it glow red when you are riding it or only when idling in the garage

 

Mine only does it when idling.

When riding it's not an issue. If I'm taking it easy and not riding hard I will get some color in it. These engines need air flowing across them at a high rate of speed most of the time.

Try bumping up the pilot. And get the NCVQ needle.
